Allende approaches to the topic "reality" from a different angle: with a story! "And of clay are we created" is about a reporter who tries to help a little girl, Azucena.As we all know from the title of the story, Azucena was under the mud which was caused by a volcana eruption.Rolf Carle, the reporter, tried everything to help her but she was stuck underneath the mud.For 3 days she suffered, all the media was there but not the pump which could really helped her.The narrator, Carle's girlfriend tried to get some help there but no one was helpful.Her sufferings was on TV for 3 days!
There comes the "reality" part.People like to watch real things on TV but that shouldn't be some little girl's suffers...I think this story is mainly written for the idea of "How far can the reality go?" and with this story we learn what Allende thinks.I agree to her that sometimes on TV, there are programs which ovestep the limits.
I like the story and I suggest everyone to read it.
